The History of Automobiles

The history of automobiles dates back to the beginning of the 19th century. The earliest vehicles were steam or electrically powered and had many shortcomings. In 1885, Karl Benz developed the first gas-powered car, which led to a revolution in vehicular design. However, these first cars had no seat belts, windshields, rearview mirrors, or turn signals. Henry Ford, however, was one of the most important figures in the history of the automobile.
